Verification Policy

At Best Interior Designers, verification exists for one purpose: to increase trust between homeowners and businesses.

A Verified Official Profile helps homeowners identify businesses that have successfully completed our verification process while allowing verified businesses to present richer, more accurate and professionally managed information.

This Verification Policy explains how verification works, what it confirms, what it does not confirm and how ownership is managed on our platform.

Why Verification Exists

Trust is one of the foundations of Best Interior Designers. While many business listings on our platform are created using publicly available information, a Verified Official Profile allows an authorised representative of the business to actively manage and enrich that listing.

Verification helps us reduce impersonation, improve listing accuracy and create greater confidence for homeowners using our platform.

What Verification Confirms

A Verified Official Profile confirms that, at the time of verification, the applicant satisfied our verification requirements and was reasonably determined to be authorised to represent the business.

Verification is intended to confirm ownership or authorised representation. It does not certify the quality of work, customer satisfaction, experience, pricing or future conduct of a business.

What Verification Does NOT Mean

A Verified Official Profile should not be interpreted as meaning that a business is:

• the best interior designer;
• the highest ranked business;
• recommended over competing businesses;
• endorsed by Best Interior Designers;
• guaranteed to deliver satisfactory results;
• the lowest priced provider; or
• free from future complaints or disputes.

Verification confirms identity and authorised representation—not commercial quality or future performance.

Verification & Visibility

Verification and promotional visibility are two separate concepts at Best Interior Designers.

A Verified Official Profile confirms that a business has successfully completed our verification process and that we have reasonably established that the profile is managed by the business owner or an authorised representative.

Some businesses may also choose promotional products, such as Premier Studio, which provide additional visibility within clearly identified promotional areas of the platform. Promotional visibility does not change the meaning of verification, provide additional editorial trust, or influence our independent editorial standards.

A Premier Studio remains a Verified Official Profile with additional promotional visibility—it is not considered "more verified" than any other Verified Official Profile. By separating verification from promotion, we aim to maintain a clear distinction between trust and visibility.

Current Verification Process

At launch, verification is performed through a combination of editorial review and manual ownership verification. Depending on the circumstances, we may request information reasonably necessary to confirm that an applicant is authorised to represent the business. Verification methods may evolve over time as Best Interior Designers continues to develop new verification systems.

Future Verification Methods

As our platform evolves, we may introduce additional verification methods designed to improve security and reduce verification time. These may include:

• Secure Google Sign-In.
• Google Business Profile integration.
• Business ownership verification through trusted third-party services.
• Domain verification.
• Email verification.
• Telephone verification.
• Other verification technologies considered appropriate by Best Interior Designers.

The introduction of additional verification methods will not automatically replace editorial review where human judgement remains necessary.

Agency & Authorised Representatives

We recognise that some businesses appoint marketing agencies, consultants or other authorised representatives to manage their online presence. Where an applicant is acting on behalf of a business, Best Interior Designers may request additional verification before granting ownership or management access.

Our objective is to ensure that control of a Verified Official Profile remains with the legitimate business owner or an appropriately authorised representative. Where ownership cannot be established with reasonable confidence, verification may be delayed, suspended or declined until additional information is provided.

Verification Period & Renewal

A Verified Official Profile is valid for one year from the date of activation. To maintain Verified Official Profile status and continue receiving premium features, businesses must renew their subscription before its expiry date.

If a Verified Official Profile is not renewed, it will generally be downgraded to a Free Listing. The business listing itself will normally remain published on Best Interior Designers unless removal is requested and approved in accordance with our applicable policies. Renewal maintains the benefits of the Verified Official Profile. It does not automatically require a full re-verification unless circumstances reasonably require one.

Re-verification

Best Interior Designers may require re-verification where necessary to protect the integrity of the platform. Examples include ownership transfer, unresolved ownership disputes, suspected fraud, significant changes to the business identity, changes to the official website or domain, changes that materially affect business ownership, or other circumstances where additional verification is reasonably necessary.

Ownership Transfer

Businesses occasionally change ownership. Where ownership of a business changes, the Verified Official Profile must be transferred to the new authorised owner. Best Interior Designers may require verification of both the outgoing and incoming parties before completing the transfer. Future dashboard features may allow verified businesses to initiate ownership transfer requests directly through their account.

Suspension or Revocation

Best Interior Designers may suspend, revoke or remove Verified Official Profile status where appropriate. Examples include fraudulent activity, impersonation, unresolved ownership disputes, false or misleading information, significant policy violations, copyright infringement, failure to comply with verification requirements, expiry without renewal, or other circumstances affecting the integrity of the platform. Where reasonably possible, businesses may be notified before permanent revocation.

Verification Disputes

If multiple parties claim ownership of the same business listing, Best Interior Designers may temporarily suspend verification while the matter is reviewed. During this process, additional documentation or verification may be requested from one or more parties.

Our primary objective is to ensure that control of a Verified Official Profile is granted only to the party reasonably determined to be authorised to manage the business.

Verification is built on trust—not exclusivity. We will continue improving our verification methods as technology evolves while maintaining meaningful human oversight where editorial judgement is required.
